The microphone stops working on the ASUS Zenbook 15 OLED UM3504 after a Windows 11 update, or apps report no microphone detected. This is commonly caused by Windows privacy settings being reset or the Realtek audio driver switching the default input device.
Fix 1 — Check Windows Privacy Settings
- Settings → Privacy and security → Microphone
- Turn on “Microphone access” at the top
- Scroll down and enable access for the app you are using
