Sleep Wake Issues Fix

Run the Sleep Study Report to Find the Cause
Open Command Prompt as Administrator. Run: powercfg /sleepstudy. A file called sleepstudy-report.html is saved to the current folder. Open it to find which process or driver is holding a wake lock or causing unexpected wake events on the Latitude 5540.
Disable Wake-on-WLAN on Intel Wi-Fi Adapter
Device Manager → Network adapters → Intel Wi-Fi 6E adapter → Properties → Power Management tab. Uncheck “Allow this device to wake the computer.” Also in the Advanced tab, set Wake on Magic Packet and Wake on Pattern Match to Disabled.

Update Intel Graphics and Wi-Fi Drivers
Open Dell Command Update and install available Intel Arc graphics and Intel Wi-Fi driver updates for the Latitude 5540. Driver updates often include Modern Standby and wake-on-resume reliability fixes that address black screens on wake.
Update BIOS via Dell Command Update
Dell frequently releases BIOS updates for enterprise Latitude models that fix Modern Standby sleep and wake timing issues. Dell Command Update → Check for updates → install any available BIOS update for the Latitude 5540.
